About Toolwoven Sudoku Studio

Toolwoven Sudoku Studio makes printable Sudoku sheets: 4×4, 6×6 and 9×9 grids at three levels, 1 to 6 puzzles per page, A4 or US Letter, optional large print, and answer keys at the back.

How it works

Everything runs in your web browser. A complete grid is built from your seed, then clues are removed one at a time. Each removal is kept only if a backtracking solver still finds exactly one solution, and the finished puzzle is checked once more. A second, step-by-step logic solver then records the hardest technique the puzzle needs, which is shown in the batch check under the preview.

The same page model produces the on-screen preview, the print view, the SVG file and the PDF. The PDF is written by the page itself as vector lines and text in the built-in Helvetica font, so no file is uploaded and no outside service is used.

What the levels mean

Easy, Medium and Hard set how many clues remain (for 9×9: 42, 36 and 30). Clue count is only a rough guide to difficulty, so the levels table on the main page shows what the logic solver needed across a sample of 540 puzzles. The hardest puzzles here are below the “fiendish” level of specialist puzzle books.
